Tone Mapped HDR vs. "Normal"

This composition is to help illustrate the differences between a 'normal' Photograph and it's HDR, Tone mapped, cousin...

 

 

 I think both post processing techniques give a great result, each with it's own pluses.

 

However, I really like the shot, so I think it would look great printed on a Triscuit :)

Being Dumb, what is a "Tone mapped HDR" Please? I now look at the other tabblo to see the full picture.

I, for one, would like to see it painted on a Triscut too :-) It's a very lovely shot.
