Some that I like

I am a 65 year old visually impaired photographer.   I am often pleased with the detail that I can see once the photos are loaded on the computer.  There are many facets of the photos revealed at that time, that were not eveident to me when the picture was snapped.

The bike is one of my main modes of transportation, in this shot it was a snowy and icy day on the Boise greenbelt.

The photos on this page are a few of my favorites.  The ones from Africa are my pride, I traveled to Botswana alone and unassisted.  I enjoy challenging myself to levels that I believe most V.I. people would not.

There are more than 40,000 elephants in the Chobe game park in northern Botswana.

I don't think I will ever truly find a style of photography for myself, I enjoy taking photos of so many things in so many ways.  I try not to over edit my photos.  Although with my new Paintshop Pro Photo it is getting much more tempting to do so, as you can see in the last photo on this page.

The wall and the kids at the fountain were taken in downtown Boise Id.

The African dancers were in Maun Botswana.  I also was privledged to spend several nights in a native village in sought central Zimbabwe.  We had a celebration in the village that lasted most of 14 hours.  I will eventually post some of those photos on this site.

You certainly have an eye for beauty in its many forms. There are some spectacular images in this group. I especially like the one of the small red and white bird. It's almost like a feathered strawberry among cherries. But there are many other images of striking beauty. The barn with the balloon in the background. The sepia wall with the motorcycle. The B&W tree scene. And many more. I haven't figured out the half underwater shot. :P

I also use a bicycle for many of my shots. The setup I have is similar though I have a road bike rather than a mountain bike. I have a Bogen "Super clamp" that I clamp to the top post of the bike. I use a ball and socket head with it to mount a camera for long exposures, the bike acting as a makeshift tripod of sorts.

Great work.

Most of the pictures are very impressive. I especially like the butterfly one. Very good detail there. I like the flower shot & the birds shots too. Oh and also the one where little children are playing near water. Very cute snap. The ones with nature as their main theme make for good viewing for me :o)
