Paul said at 7:44 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: I like how the images are taken from beneath the figures and the sky is used as a nice background, thus achieving a good contrast. The title is also very well suited. A beautiful and elegant tabblo, Eduardo. :)
Love2laugh said at 7:46 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: Wonderful Pics Eduardo. Such Vivid Colors! I'm sure it is an incredible site to be there at that time of the year. Thanks for sharing !! Sheila
Eduardo.affonso said at 7:49 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: Thanks for your comments, CRUISING, PAUL & SHEILA. I had no choice but taking the photos from beneath the figures because they were on top of huge cars (they were being prepared for tonight's parade). Fortunatelly it was a sunny day and the sky was incredibly blue, providing the perfect background.
Great job, mon ami!!
Nmat said at 8:10 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: This is quite a parade!! What is the celebration? Beautiful tabblo, Eduardo.
DVP said at 8:10 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: This is awesome. I can imagine how HUGE they are. Wow!
Mashpee_Paula said at 8:12 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: oooohh!! Bigger than life pictures Eduardo!! Such exquisite colors....I like the shades of green in your first picture! Superbe tabblo ~ as usual!! Thank you. :)
Murphywally said at 8:22 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: Great Tabblo.
Spilly0901 said at 8:42 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: Such wonderful color! After many weeks of bitter cold and gray sky, this is a welcome change. Thanks for the invite.
EMA said at 9:30 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: Fotos belissimas Eduardo.
Engelgrafik said at 10:33 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: Eduardo.. you should create a variation of Tabblo where it's only these giant characters with buildings in the background. You know why? It looks like those old Japanese TV shows for kids, like Ultraman, or Spectre Man, where they had these giants fighting in the cities. Awesome!!!
Pkeener said at 11:04 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: JEFF you have a very active imagination :) EDU these shots are fantastic. You must be so sore from crouching and leaning and craning your neck, etc to get all of the wonderful angles. I like #1,4,11,12, the horse and the last one. They are all excellent and what a gorgeous day!
Siagian said at 11:04 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: i really like how you composed and framed your shots! kudos.
Sheila said at 11:43 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: we can almost feel the festivities from your photos... so much fun, color and life... thanks!!!!
Katkee said at 11:59 p.m. on Feb 18, 2007: ~i like this one very much edu~i love to see the different perspectives and the large figures against the architecture~
Experience said at 3:15 a.m. on Feb 19, 2007: Bellissime fotografie, stupendi colori, favoloso tabblo di carnevale... tutto brasileiro. Ciao
Mjpileggi said at 8:15 a.m. on Feb 19, 2007: Eduardo, this is a great tabblo! I love all the colors. My favorite are the masks (last photo) and the one with the butterflys and skulls: it's quite odd. I'm sure the parade will be fun to watch.
Bxrgirl27 said at 9:41 a.m. on Feb 19, 2007: Larger than life floats!
Eduardo.affonso said at 9:42 a.m. on Feb 19, 2007: MONICA, ANTONIO, KATE, SHEILA, WOODY, EMA, SPILLY, MURPHY, RETA, PAULA, DVP: Thanks for your comments. You had to see this by yourselves to have an idea about how big and hos impressive these "allegoric cars" are.
NANCY: It's Carnival, and these images show some of the decorated cars used on the main parade. JEFF: It's an interesting idea. Sometimes I just can't avoid the buildings - but they help giving an idea of scale. PAM: Don't you recognize the buildings on photos 4, 7 and 8? Its the Central Station (yes, the "Central do Brasil" itself, where everything begins - where Dora writes letters which will never be sent, where the thief is killed, where Josué sleeps after his mom's death...).
Pkeener said at 1:17 p.m. on Feb 19, 2007: I do now...maybe that's why i liked #4. I guess it was the different perspective that through me off. I love that clock.
Setu said at 1:22 p.m. on Feb 19, 2007: so beautiful & colorful ! must have been a nice time !
Liliana said at 2:26 p.m. on Feb 19, 2007: ¡¡Lo ampliaste!!
DEE-Trow said at 5:52 p.m. on Feb 19, 2007: What amazing pictures. Eduardo, the color is fantastic. What a gorgeous day. I love the picture with the grapes! This is going into my favorites!
Nina1960 said at 5:48 a.m. on Feb 20, 2007: Again, great and colorful pictures. The last picture is my favorite.
Jasontengco said at 7:08 a.m. on Feb 20, 2007: wowowowow! great tabblo! love the colors!
Eduardo.affonso said at 10:03 a.m. on Feb 20, 2007: JASON: One day, when I become a REAL photographer, I'll try to take black & white photos of the Carnivals!
NINA: Thanks! I didn't know it was going to turn into an interesting picture until I saw it on my computer.
Thanks, DEE. Carnival coincides with rainy season, but we had no rain until today (Fat Tuesday), so we were blessed with such gorgeous sky and all that light.
SETU: It would have been better if it wasn't so hot! But I had fun walking around all this craziness.
PAM: That clock is a landmark, and does belong to the Central Station. The other building (with the flag on top of it) is near the station but is not part of it.
Anjad said at 1:51 p.m. on Feb 20, 2007: Wow Eduardo. These pictures are really great! Must have been one awesome festival.
Paolo said at 2:20 p.m. on Feb 20, 2007: Simply wonderful :)
Liliana said at 5:06 p.m. on Feb 20, 2007: Pernas...?
Eduardo.affonso said at 5:24 p.m. on Feb 20, 2007: Yes, ANJA & PAOLO, it's something amazing. You should try to see it by yourselves.
Micadz said at 6:39 p.m. on Feb 20, 2007: Great carnival shots. Makes you want to hop on a plane.
Liliana said at 8:38 p.m. on Feb 20, 2007: Je, je, te conozco ...
Eduardo.affonso said at 8:45 a.m. on Feb 21, 2007: MICHELLE: It's a little bit late for this Carnival, but you can try next year!
LILIANA: Ainda bem que alguém me conhece, porque às vezes nem eu me reconheço mais...

Liliana said at 9:23 p.m. on Feb 21, 2007: Ya lo dijo Federico , revé el "Verde que te quiero verde...".
Eduardo.affonso said at 12:12 p.m. on Feb 25, 2007: SIMON: I still have lots of pics to post, so you won't be disappointed.
AKE: ;)
Liliana said at 2:11 p.m. on Feb 25, 2007: A eso me refería, creo que es "Porque yo ya no soy yo / ni mi casa es ya mi casa". Buenos tus versos, ¿de cuándo son...?
Eduardo.affonso said at 6:54 p.m. on Feb 26, 2007: LILIANA: Esses versos são antigos, curitibanos.
Jillcdunn said at 1:45 p.m. on Mar 1, 2007: Wow Eduardo! You have been cranking out some great tabblos while I've been away. I love all the fantastical colors and the whimsy of these.
