They can

My wonderful fiance (who will be upgraded to 'wife' 3 weeks from today) surprised me with 2 new lenses for my camera. 

This picture was taken with a Nikon 10mm f/2.8 Fisheye.  Velvet the cat was a wonderful first subject.  

I promise she is not dangerous at all.  She was just waking up from one of her many naps.  She has taken to sleeping on top of the couch and I sort of woke her up with a camera lense 2 inches from her face.

The picture below was taken right after and you can see she's completely normal...unless she's pointing and thinking, "Get that camera out of my face."
