Love is forever...a tribute to my Little Lucy~~~

Terms of endearment for my precious little dachshund...

"Teenie Wienie"

"Her Royal Wieness "

"The black Seal"

~~~These photos were all taken June 2009 in my garden...the first pics taken with our new camera~~~
My precious "Wiener baby" ~we will miss you so much...
We've cried for days and now it is time...
Little Lucy has had a stroke and is slipping away...I've been with her all the way...she is not in pain and I want to make sure she stays that way.  She is just very sleepy and we will all be there with her tonight at 6:00.
My baby will go to sleep in my arms~~~
Our veterinarian will be with us...she understands how we feel...
"Little Black doggy"
"hot doggy bottle"
"Little honey hotdog"
To quote my dear friend Debdog:  "IT IS THE LOVING THING TO DO"
Thank you everyone for sharing my life and happy days with dear little Lucy~~~
It seems that the depth of our love determines the pain of our saying goodbye ...and it hurts so much...yes, it does.
Always remember...
LOVE is FOREVER~ she is safely in my heart~~~
Hugs and tears,
Rhonda
yes, it is so hard, but you do for her what we cant do for each other as humans...end suffering in a gentle loving way when it is time. Your voice, your touch, your LOVE will surround her as she gently drifts off. I would want such a gentle end to my life. Nother to fear after this one...... HUgs and prayers of comfort for you all. xxxxxoooo Deb
here it is, the Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
Knowing when to unselfishly let go and say goodbye is the last act of love, and greatest gift that we can give to our beloved pets. It's always those left behind that have to bear the grief. Little Lucy is at peace. Our dog, Kim, has been for gone seven years now, and we still miss her. Hugs, Rhonda.
I am so sad Rhonda, I will miss this sweet little baby as I am sure you will. Sometimes to read these words is harder than to hear nothing, I know it was for me when Rascal died. There are no words that can really make one feel better when they lose a loved one.
Words can't express how we feel when we loose part of our family. It's never easy, but we know our litttle fur babies are safe when they leave us to run through the meadows of the Rainbow Bridge. I'm glad you posted that Deb. Rhonda my heart goes out to you. And Max sends his love. Hang in there. It does get better with time.
