Cruisin' for a Cure Bag Stuffing Party 2009

Every year and throughout the year, this mailbox receives thousands of pieces of mail....

All of it to benefit Prostate cancer research.

And on one special Saturday in September, the home this mailbox belongs to, becomes a place where over 100 volunteers come together to prepare goody bags for a car show simply called Cruisin' for a Cure.

It all starts with preparation days in advance with materials arriving

daily....

On Friday, volunteers come on over to set up tables, EZ up's and refreshment tubs to keep everyone cool in what sometimes can be a pretty toasty morning.

Of course before any work begins Saturday morning, the trademark M&M's are set out...

...and then it begins with the Meguiar's bags being unfolded...

...two lines are in a L shaped formation, along with a big trailer at the other end to store all of the bags!!

Nothing goes to waste and every cardboard box is recycled...

...and the finished product ends up in the trailer for two weeks until show date...

After everyone is done,it is time to check out the cars that line the streets!

There are more cars here than a lot of shows draw!!

A great BBQ lunch awaits everyone, and while the cooks are cooking, the workers are chatting!!!

We even caught Debbie and Ross in a relaxing moment...

The burgers and dogs are almost ready...

Before we eat though...instructions from the boss...

Try making this map on your home printer...

A final look at the volunteer lists for the show...

Not one picture of these guys came out right...they wouldn't stay still!!

Time for lunch!!!

And give a lot of credit to these two, for keeping the lunch line full of food!!!

What a morning it was!!! Tons of volunteers working together for a common cause - finding a cure for Prostate cancer.
