Great shots Eduardo! Love #5, 17, 23, the old fisherman..well, actually it´s hard to pic a fav - they are all great! Why isn´t it an island anymore?

Nice shots :)

Thanks, KARSTEN. It's now connected to the continent, having become a peninsula, but it is still known as "island".

Wow, lots of wonderful shots here. I LOVE the birds, ibis perhaps? The older boats have so much character, not to mention the fisherman tending his nets. That is a brilliant shot of the fish! Excellent...

The fish docks are always full of color and life. great images, Eduardo. The beatiful birds are Egrets. There are several types of white egrets-- These guys have their breeding plumage. the larger one is the Great White Egret and he has the black feet. the one with the orange feet is the snowy egret.

My favorite kind of tabblo. Terrific set, Eduardo. I especially like the suicidal fish in # 17, leaping up to be devoured by the egret:)
Buschinho said at 6:55 a.m. on Aug 4, 2009:
my favourite is the sea bird watching the fisherman, really great scenes !!!
I got a similar shot as No22 in Bahia :-)

"Jesus estar aqui"...¿¿¿Tarzán lo escribió...???
Esas garzas de cuellos modiglianescos le dan una levedad increíble a las fotos, además de una lectura vertical, casi mística... Así que volvemos al tema de Dios en este Tabblo...

Gracias, NOE & JESUS. Thank you, LOES, LORRAINE, ANGELA, TEO, CHARLES, & HEIDI. I am sure you all would love to make a photo safari in this almost unknown part of Rio.

EDITE: Mesmo despenteadas, sempre acho as garças elegantes demais para frequentar esses ambientes...

ROBERT & NOREEN: These are egrets & great egrets (and one heron, I guess).

SETU: I've learnt a lot from you, my friend!

ANDREAS: Have you already posted your Bahian pics? I don't remember seeing them.

MIKE: I don't think it was a suicidal fish, yet a masochist one who happened to find a sadistic egret.

RAINER: I, too, love harbours, sea shore, docks, ships, boats - particularly when they are already decayed, full of faded colors, rotten woods, broken nets...

CELIA: Yes, it was calm and peaceful, but the smell wasn't so nice...

LINDA: I didn't know you were an "egret expert!". I know there are some different types of egrets, but I can't identify them. I researched on the net and found snowy egrets with and without weird hair style (I thought some of these were just having a bad hair day...).

Voltei pra te dizer que a quarta foto é maravilhosa aquele espelho d"água ficou mesmo fantástico, sua especialidade...
EMA said at 11:44 a.m. on Aug 5, 2009:
Tem razão! No meio da confusão dos barcos elas parecem bastante deslocadas. Mas elas parecem não se preocupar com isso. :)
