Be careful about believing everything you read and see. It's like the emails I have been getting for several years on the bill before congress regarding social security and illegal aliens. It's been circulating forever and people actually are dumb enough to believe it without researching it.
Anybody can claim anything but it doesn't make it true without concrete facts. I can say that last week I was arrested by the Hillsborough county sherriffs department for J walking and kept in jail for three days. Everyone on Tabblo would probably believe me. Why would I make it up. But how many of you would research and go to the HCS website where you can look up all the arrest records. And then a conspiracy theorist would say that the sheriffs kept it off of the site. Come on people. does that make sense. Yeah, anythings possible and if you want to spend your life believing the worst of this country, then you'll always be miserable.
Just so you know--I take much of what I read, see on tv or the internet with a grain of salt.

andrew jackson, abraham lincoln (is his very long quote verbalized in the film, then false or misquoted too?) and John Kennedy executive order # 11110 abolishing the private federal reserve - is that easily confirmed of researched? I'm not an American and I DON'T believe everything I see, read etc (in fact won't watch much tv news or internet for years)and am not a fan of conspiracy theorists but what struck me WAS the history of several different presidents, their words and actions and then their assasinations....they all had the same common goals and fears for the U.S.A. and tried to warn or rectify, as far as I can see anyway.

Grandbrother said at 10:24 p.m. on Aug 11, 2009: Doesn't take much digging to find that quite a bit of the information presented in this film is either totally false, or based on nothing more than conjecture. For instance, an allegation is made in the film that Obama has been groomed for over 30 years to be President by the Bilderbergers, which would mean that they started "grooming" him when he was just finishing up high school at 18 years old. Aside from being unverifiable, it certainly seems pretty far-fetched at best. The film also asserts that part of the whole plot includes Obama breaking a myriad of campaign promises in order to shift us towards the supposed "globalist agenda." A quick visit to www.politifact.com provides us with a list of campaign promises kept, broken, compromised on, stalled, in the works, or not yet addressed at all (http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/). The current count has promises kept at 34, compromised on at 11, stalled at 12, in the works at 77, not yet addressed at 374, and broken at 7. I don't mean to diminish the broken campaign promises in any way, but they are the lowest number on the list by quite a bit.
But the simple fact that some of the central claims made in the film are unprovable, like that all elections since Kennedy have been controlled by a conspiratorial group of bankers, means that the entire film is built on a shaky foundation at best to begin with. Consequently, accepting the conclusions it presents requires such a level of faith in the film maker - Alex Jones - as to render it meaningless and ineffectual.
Beyond that, something I always ask myself about any conspiracy theory is this: "how many people would have to be involved for it to be viable?" If the answer is "a lot", then I personally feel like it's most likely a fundamentally flawed conspiracy theory. The track record of any large groups keeping secrets effectively is extremely poor, especially if it's a conspiracy that's supposedly gone on for as many decades, and has involved as many people as Jones claims this one has.
I've personally reached a point where I find it counter-productive to get my information from sources like Alex Jones, or Anne Coulter, or Michael Moore, or Rush Limbaugh, or anyone else of the sort. But as others here have said, that's just my personal opinion ;)

I love watching Anne Coulter. I find her quite amusing. I always find myself laughing when I watch her. And she is actually much funnier than Rush. Maybe they should team up and do a comedy act.

Could be 30 years 3 years or 3000 years. Makes no difference to me whatsoever. Was Obama lying while campaigning ? NO he was not. He promised “Change” and “Transforming America”. I personally disagree with Jones on this one. LEARN HISTORY, forget Jones. I lived thru so called “Perestroika”. And again LEARN HISTORY. What you get with “Change” is GENOCIDE on a massive scale. Read about Cap and Trade. 6 month ago they were screaming that raising taxes is last thing you want to do in a current state of economy. And now they are trying to pass the bill that will actually DESTROY it. And if you live in California you really should know better (I think). Or “tent cities” are not true either ? There are A LOT of flags out there. I suggest you forget Jones. And make research on your own while you still have a technical ability to do so. I have no plans to lecture anybody anyway, just want to share couple of things.

We have an economy structured in such a way that a few giant companies going under dragged us all with them, we have what seems like an ever-widening divide between the political extremes of left and right, we have a society plagued by people who seem to think that effective communication means shouting down anyone who opposes them at the top of their lungs, we have a steady flow of American citizens lobbing racially derogatory names and accusations at our first black President, and we have a planet that's suffering terrible damage from our lack of foresight as a species to curb our destructive behavior. And that's just it for me. There are so many significant issues factually staring us in the face right now that demand our attention and action. I'm all for entertaining conspiracy theories and being aware of how all the pieces fit together, but they certainly aren't the serious source of concern for me in light of all the other stuff I just mentioned and more.
As for "change" equating to "genocide", that may be the case sometimes, but not all the time. I definitely understand your hesitations about change given that you experienced Perestroika firsthand, but there are other changes we can look to for some measure of hope and understanding. Significant change in 1960's civil rights laws steered the country in a positive direction. Significant changes in beliefs about how nature works have changed things for the better throughout history, from understanding how our planet relates to the space and objects around it to how we treat illnesses to our ability to have an instantaneous discussion like this with people from all around the world without ever having to leave our houses. That's not to say that there were no difficulties involved in these changes - there were those who adamantly opposed civil rights developments, and there have been those who have misused and abused technology in ways that have done serious damage. But in my opinion, given human nature, that's simply unavoidable. We'll always be changing as a species, and we'll never all see eye to eye on what those changes should be. However, that doesn't alter my view that the changes I specified were still fundamentally positive ones.
So yes, I have indeed already forgotten about Jones, and rest assured that I have put a lot of time and energy into learning what little I can about the world. I plan on continuing to do so as long as I have the ability.
