Though I don't agree with Freud, for my mom has done as much to protect as my dad (and my big brothers, too ;-) were very effective in keeping away a nasty neighbourhood boy from their sisters), I fully agree with your own statement. I too miss his merry laughter, his stubborness and the fact, that he had always time for his children, no matter how much work was on his table.
