Daibutsu, the Great Buddah of Kamakura

Cast in 1252, the bronze statue of the Amida Buddah (The Buddah of Infinite Light) survived tidal waves, fires, earthquakes, typhoons and even the bombings of WW2. It is located in Kamakura (capital of Japan from 1185 until 1333).

Its proportions are distorted so that it seems balanced to those in front of it.

Unlike the real Buddah, this one is empty inside

(yes, its interior is open to visitors).

Leva e lava a alma.

WOW! Really impressive! I love the pictures with the green leaves at the front and the statue at the back! So you are in Japan? This means neither of us are "na terrinha" now ;)
Tks for sharing!

Arigato gozaimas, DEN, CHARLES, MARLIN.

LILIANA- A emocao maior eh estar diante dele.

DEE- I am glad I can lend you my eyes for a while.

¡¡¡¡Buen toque, maestro!!!!

Something about Buddhas. They take me back to before I was born. When there was light. and ZEN.
