Mount Douglas Park, my favourite walk

One of nature's wonders, the Erythronium

Hike trails within Mount Douglas Park lush with the abundance of ferns and wildflowers, towered by Douglas Fir and Cedar trees overhead. Trails lead you to the summit elevation of 213 metres. This 360 degree lookout is spectacular, with views of rural Saanich, the city lights of Victoria, and further, the Olympic and Cascade mountains in Washington State.

Celia, Andre, Jean, Annelies, Bobbie and Teo... thank you all so much for dropping by and taking the time to leave me a message, very much appreciated. Annelies, I am trying to find out what the tree blossom is - I think it may be part of the hawthorn family but I am not positive. On my screen the blossoms are a creamy white but whatever colour it is beautiful tree. Thanks again...

Noreen, any favorite walk of yours is a place I want to be. Your photos are so fresh and lovely. I can't get enough out of #3. You composed that so perfectly off center with the curvy branch forming an arch that my eye follows nicely

Mike, Pam and Pat, thank you for dropping by and leaving your lovely comments. I went back to the same spot this morning to show a friend hoiw beautiful this blossom tree is - it is past its best now but the curvy branch is so neat! Did you notice the smudge on the tree photos (centre and near the bottom of the photo)? There was something stuck on the lens I am afraid! I think it adds character...

Anne, Jigs and Dar - many thanks for your generous comments. You are right, Anne, I am incredibly lucky to have this amazing park on my doorstep. Jigs, it is indeed a walker's paradise. Dar, you better get there soon before the blossoms are all gone. Go very early in the morning and you might catch the lilies. I use the Glendenning entrance. Thanks again...
