Lake Tahoe is an exquisite place and Heavenly to ski (if you pardon my pun) and so 5 Icelanders and a vetted New Yorker set their goal for those glorious slopes.

Alas one of the Icelanders didn't make it and we missed her sorely.

But we tried to put on a brave face as can be seen on the pictures.

We spent new years at a lovely restaurant called Evan's.  It only seats 36 so we were very lucky to get a table!

Our favorite other guests at Evan's brought new years stuff which they graciously shared with us and we just took that ball and ran with it.  *tweeeeeeeeet*

The rest of new years eve we spent in the Sodom and Gomorrah of the casinos where Hjalli quintupled his stake :) Such sinful behavior made Ólöf's parents worry about the company her daughter was keeping...

New years day was a day of relaxation and we used the opportunity to introduce David to Icelandic delicacies, namely hangikjöt and malt&appelsín.

He introduced us in turn to the quality game Apples to Appels. Highly recommended!

From Lake Tahoe Hjalli and I visited San Francisco. Here we are enjoying a champagne brunch at the Top of the Mark.  Also highly recommended!
