I was recently on a research trip that started in Bucharest, Romania. When we stepped out the front door of our hotel in Revolution Square the first morning, I was immediately struck by how much the city was blanketed in wires. We were told that basically, there were no serious regulations in place as technology was being introduced to the city, so virtually anyone who wanted to string up some wires for their network was free to. They were so prominent that you really had to factor them into the composition of any photos you wanted to take. Ultimately, I feel like it made for some pretty unexpected but interesting shots. |
