MD went to San Francisco

This was my first time to San Fran. I went under the premise of a conference and learned a lot of things. But most of all I learned to admire San Francisco.

The hotel the conference was held at was at the top of Nob Hill.  The Intercontinental Mark Hopkins treated me like a princess by giving me a room with a spectacular view.  And below you can see how impressive it made the Golden Gate bridge.

Even in the fog the view was impressive.

In the afternoon and evenings I strolled around town and took pictures. What a great atmosphere this city has! The City Lights bookstore/publisher kind of summed it up for me:  Have a seat, read a book.

I took a hop-on/hop-off bus around town with my new little compact camera. This explains the weird angles and off framing in many of these pictures. It was a bright day and the bus was moving. But sometimes off framing and weird angles make for pretty pictures.

Here: Frantically trying for the city hall dome.

Lucky for me it was a foggy day. Lucky because the fog hid the top of the bridge so beautifully.  I had of course never seen it before and maby this is how it usually looks but all the postcard pictures show it in sunny weather. But the fog makes for much much cooler pictures.

Not all the tourists shared my Pollyann-esque view.

Thanx for the tour, great photos. I haven't been to SF in ages but one day I will be back.
