Top Ten of Twenty-O-Seven

The year 2007 is one of the turning points in my life. It was a year of discovery and innovation. I was at the point in my life that I had to move on from many shadows of the past. That's when photography came into my life. These ten photos are my personal favorites, hence, very special because each picture tells me many stories, which are extremely unique and vital to my personal growth last year, and reminiscent of the good moments I've had so far in my life. It has been a year since I first held a DSLR camera, and ever since, the adventure has never ended. This collection features some of my most prized treasures. I look at these pictures and feel immensely proud and awed at the beauty of life as captured by these frozen moments. All of these are already posted in my previous tabblos. It gives me great honor to be able to share these with you, guys.

The Red Repentant, Tree Jr. Finally Discovers the Truth Behind the Crosses, Dive into the Egg, and Joy, are my favourites, but they all are spectacular; you are very good at what you do. :)

Each one of the photo has a particular meaning. If I had to choose, I'll choose the last one and the cemetery. Bravo, bravissimo. Ciao
Sirnicolay said at 2:48 a.m. on May 9, 2008:
Thanks, Dar and Mirella. :) I am very intrigued how different people are partial to different photos, how each photo responds unpredictably to various viewers. That's a great testament to how much I have achieved in a year. Thanks again :)

Terrific frozen moments, James. But from all your wonderful images, I don't know how you managed to pick this particular set. The voyage of discovery goes on. Priorities change & values shift. We evolve as what happens in life shapes us.

Mike, I spent more than an hour choosing from my humongous collection for this top ten. It was crazy. My first list was around 30+. And when I made the first cut, I had around 18. I thought it would be better to showcase unique pictures with unique settings and mood for this. I honestly thought it would be easy. Just the construction of the tabblo took more than an hour to create and about more than two hours of re-editing and re-editing. But I'm proud of these pictures. :)

You are right. The voyage of discovery does go on with all the paradigm shifts and issues that we all encounter. These pictures bring back a lot of memories. When I look back at them, I see them in a totally different light, and I make new interpretations of these frozen moments. It's a wonderful human experience to stand back from the past and look at it with a different eye and experience serendipity and utter joy through this fortunate opportunity of retreat to the past through illustrations.
