PHS_Wrestling said at 11:20 a.m. on Feb 13, 2008: Enaldo, the Poudre team beat Rocky Mountain (46-28), and having already defeated the other "5A" city high school (Fort Collins), won the "city championship," and thus took possession of the trophy hoisted in the photo above.
Rocky Mountain has traditionally had a strong team, so defeating them was especially satisfying for the boys and the coaches.
I was supposed to be photographing the JVs, while Scott photographed the Varsity. A double row of chairs between the two mats made it difficult to try to photograph both at once. It was hard to photograph the JVs (Who totally rule!), knowing how exciting the simultaneous Varsity match was, so most of these photos are of JV matches, with a few Varsity shots.
I think this is the only dual I've ever been to where the JV matches took longer than the Varsity's!
