where are the children?

before there was internet...

before there was playstation...

even before television...

these swings were already there.

children would spend hours and hours on them...

pushing each other higher and higher til they can reach the sky...

then they jump off and see how far they can fly...

these swings were the children's friends...

sharing their most precious times with them...

but where are the children?

where are they now?

Isn't that the truth. I think I'll be makin my 8yr old go for a good jump on her trampoline today! Great idea by the way. :)

GREAT! so true (ask my kids, i say this all the time). well captured and worded.

the only great benefit: open swings for my kids (a rarity in our days!) :-P

I remember an ash tree near the playground swings. If you pumped really, really hard, enough to make the chains go scarily slack, you could touch the orange berries with your bare feet.

good question here. when i was growing up, i spent almost all my play/free time outdoors playing with the other kids or just exploring.

i sure did miss childhood while i was shooting this. the sad thing is, most kids now wouldn't know how much fun we had back then...let's make it a mission to bring the kids back to the playground! :) one kid at a time!

Some of the kids that used to visit playgrounds are now taking pics and posting them on Tabblo. I miss the swings of my childhood, too. I couldn't touch orange berries but I dreamt of touching the clouds!

Yes, great pics...brings so many memories and thoughts back from my childhood too.
I remember taking a turn to push my friend up as high as I could. "Higher! Higher!" she shouted.
Then someone called my name, I got distracted....and got hit in the chin with the swing! OUCH!!

That gave me goose bumps! Love this. I still can't resist an empty swing!
