I saw this today and couldn't resist sharing it. Its a clear, well written white-paper full of wonderful descriptions, hints and tips. Even if you don't own a Sony Camera I'm sure there are things of value here.

Enjoy!

I have a now antique, MVC CD200. She still takes gorgeous shots. I can't seem to part with her but I'm lusting after the H5.

I'm holding off on a new purchase until at least March, or when my will breaks, I'm not sure which will happen first.

I used to have an old cybershot back in 2000 when i got my first digital camera.

Now I have a DSC-P200.

As you know I have an H5 after owning two Sony point and shoots. Figured I would advance to this type of camera before I move on to an SLR. I just didn't feel like I was ready to spend the money, or was advanced enough in my photography, to take this step yet. In a couple of years I hope I will be. But I'm content for right now. If photographers are ever totally content!

i own a DSC F828. i think this series has been phased out to make way for the H series. i also am hoping to make the leap to a DSLR in the future.

I used to shoot with a Sony Ericsson P910 phone camera having misplaced our regular Camera. Most of my pictures have been taken with the phone camera even on vacations. Have very recently purchased a Sony T 100. Hope to do a better job at photography now. I am a complete newbie to this art and really want to excel at it.I grow as i watch & learn. Now, i want to start shooting as well :o)

I am using an H5. I am extremely bad about reading instructions and all of those wonderful, helpful books about how to use the camera. So, I'm learning by trial and error, and I do mean error...!

I have a Sony Cyber-shot 6 - DSC-S600 and I am still trying to learn all about it by taking pictures and seeing how they turn out.

I suppose I could be accused of not being able to make up my mind because I have several different cameras, all of which I enjoy and use for different situations. My favourite Sony camera is the R1 with its unusually wide angle lens (24mm to 120mm in 135mm terms). Unfortunately the R1 is fairly large and heavy so cannot be tucked in a purse for convenience. My other Sony camera is the H5 which has some remarkable capabilities and is light and easy to carry around. At the moment I am trying to hone my skills taking macro shots with the H5.

After waiting and waiting... the reviews of the H9 were enough to push me into REpurchasing the H5. The price has dropped significantly, the batteries are charging and I'm looking forward to the increase in Image Quality from my ancient Mavica.
Hollyridger said at 3:26 p.m. on Jun 6, 2007:
Destiny, what do you mean by "repurchasing" the H5? Did you buy one and lose it or drop it or something?! Recently I bought the tele conversion lens for the H5 (the DH 1758) which works remarkably well. Since today is a rainy day I must spend some time culling my photo collection.
Siagian said at 11:48 a.m. on Jun 10, 2007:
correction: the DSC F828 is replaced by the R1, and not the H series as i had previously posted. the R1 has an enormous sized sensor which vastly improves picture quality. for a full comparison review go here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/sonydscr1/
DVP said at 4:17 p.m. on Jun 11, 2007:
Holly, I had the H5 for a few weeks but returned it on seeing the H9 at the PMA (pre-release photographic show) in Vegas back in April. Now that the reviews of the H9 have turned out so poorly, I decided to purchase the H5 again for use until the race turns from megapixels to who can produce the best sensor in a small camera.

The R1 has a great sensor, true, for landscapes... upon research, low light seems to pose some problems for it. Sticking with the H5 for now.

I just added my latest pictures taken with my new Sony H9. I read lots of reviews and also want to thank Destiny for her input regarding the H5 compared to the H9. I always check out CNET to see what they have to say and they rate it the same as the H5. And the reviews for the most part were very good so I just took my chances. I'm still hoping I didn't make a mistake. We'll just have to see. I haven't printed any large prints yet, only 4x6's. Hopefully they will turn out as good as the H5. I do love the 15x zoom!
